The Huskiettes placed second at a dance competition held Saturday at Thurston.
Stayton finished first.
“They did really good,” said Coach Kristin Ashcraft. “It was their first competition so they had some jitters and mistakes.”
The team also received a variety of feedback from the judges and will adjust its routine accordingly, Ashcraft said.
Sweet Home’s score pre-qualified the team for the second round at state.
Teams competing at state must score a minimum of 60 in the first round to qualify for the second night of performances.
Sunday, the seniors individually danced at the all-state auditions at Wilsonville High School. Winners are announced in March.
