Sweet Home wrestlers did well last weekend at the cadet freestyle and Greco state championships.
Placers included:
Shane Vandehei, second in freestyle and third in Greco at 105.
Thomas Helfrich, sixth in freestyle and third in Greco at 119.
Matt Harkey, fifth in freestyle and third in Greco at 189.
Thomas Rosa, fifth in Greco at 145.
Rob Martin, second in Greco at heavyweight.
Matt Maloney and John Farris tied for fifth at 119 pounds.
Martin and Harkey qualified for the Cadet National Team and Vandehei qualified for the National Dual Team that will compete in Colorado.
“Our guys all wrestled very well,” Coach Steve Thorpe said. “It was a great experience for all of them. We’ll wrap up the season next weekend at the junior state championships.”
