Although it was a non-scoring meet, Husky swimmers opened their 2000-01 season strong Friday at the Sweet Home Relays.
Coach Doug Peargin said both his boys and girls team swam very well.
“I was very pleased, actually somewhat surprised by how well everyone swam so early in the season,” Coach Peargin said.
Coach Peargin said all of his swimmers got a chance to compete and everyone earned at least a fourth place finish sometime during the meet.
“I thought Junction City might be a little tougher than they appeared in the boys,” Coach Peargin said of the squad that was runner-up last spring to his state championship team.
“Our times surprised me a little, I’ll have to admit,” Peargin said.
Calendar: The Huskies travel to the Philomath Relays Thursday.
