All four incumbents, as of Monday, Aug. 13, had filed to run for open City Council seats in the Nov. 6 general election.
They are Susan Coleman, Bob Briana, Greg Mahler and Diane Gerson, all cu. Their terms in office expire Dec. 31.
The filing period for City Council is open through 5 p.m. on Aug. 28 for the Nov. 6 general election.
To be eligible, a candidate must be a registered voter and have lived in Sweet Home for at least one year.
To file, candidates may complete a “Declaration of Candidacy” form and pay $10 or file by petition with at least 10 signatures – but not more than 20 – from registered Sweet Home voters. Signatures are verified by the Linn County elections officer prior to filing the petition with the city. Verification must be complete by 5 p.m. on Aug. 28.
Candidates must file at the city manager’s office, City Hall, 1140 12th Ave.
