Sweet Home police continue to investigate the Feb. 25 fire that destroyed a portion of Fir Lawn Lutheran Church, Chief Jason Ogden said.
The fire, reported shortly before 1:30 a.m., destroyed the foyer and heavily damaged the sanctuary and other portions of the approximately 70-year-old building.
Investigators from the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office and the Oregon State Police Arson Unit converged on the site following the incident, but Ogden said Monday that he hadn’t gotten updates from them.
Meanwhile, he said, “we have sent stuff off to the crime lab for processing.”
“We are still asking the public to give us anything they can that would be helpful,” Ogden said.
