Irene Lucille Parker, 89, of Lebanon died on Dec. 22, 2007 at Oregon Health Sciences University.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1918 the daughter of Harvey and Bessie (Wright) Crandall.
Parker met E.M. “Sam” Parker, and the two married on Nov. 14, 1936 in Trona, Calif.
During World War II, they lived in Los Angeles, where Sam worked in the shipyards. They traveled throughout Oregon following work and settled in Sweet Home in 1956. In Sweet Home, they became part of the community by attending Holley Christian Church and the Senior Center.
Mrs. Parker loved gardening flowers and family activities. She loved to hunt and fish with her husband. She moved to Lebanon after her husband died in 2003. She lived at The Oaks in Lebanon and attended Lebanon Four Square Church.
She is survived by her children, Steve Parker and wife, Marlene, of Myrtle Point, Dave Parker and wife, Mary, of Lebanon and Anna L. Van Horn of Klamath Falls; sister, Anna Belle Martin of Ridgecrest, Calif.; sister-in-law, Juanita Parker of Wyoming; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Parker, and two brothers.
A Memorial Service was held on Dec. 29 at the Lebanon Four Square Church. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and sent to Sweet Home Funeral Chapel at 1443 Long Street, Sweet Home, OR 97386.
