Iris Bruckbauer, 94, of Foster died April 12, 2014.
She was born Dec. 18, 1919 in Mapperly, Nottingham, England to William Henry and Alicia Mary (Wolthington) Heslop.
She lived in Illinois and Wisconsin eventually moving to Oregon in 1965. She was part of Santiam Sams, VFW and American Legion. She was trained as a nurse at South Hampton Hospital in England during World War II. She worked for several local doctors and dentists while living in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Oregon. She also worked as a nurse’s aide at Lebanon Community Hospital.
Mrs. Bruckbauer loved knitting, tailoring, embroidery, tutoring and all types of arts and crafts.
She is survived by a son, Scott Bruckbauer; brother John Heslop; partner of about 35 years, Marvin Bacher; step-son, Floyd Bacher; and a step-granddaughter.
Mrs. Bruckbauer was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Bruckbauer; sister Lilian Merriweather; and brother William Heslop.
Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
