Jack Legg Sr.

Jack Danford Legg Sr., 83, of Sweet Home died July 14, 2011.

He was born June 28, 1928 in Malta, Mont., the son of Earl and Laura (Ramond) Legg.

Mr. Legg served overseas while in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

He married June McKinney, who had two children, Ronald McKinney and Karen McKinney (Ogilvie). Mr. and Mrs. Legg had two more children, Glorie Legg (Herbison) and Jack Legg Jr.

After his wife, June, died, he married Phyllis Zolezzi of Springfield.

He wanted it said that he felt blessed to have had two wonderful wives.

Mr. Legg owned Jack’s IGA supermarkets in Sweet Home and Lebanon. In 1974, he started Dan-Dee Sales Sporting Goods Store in Sweet Home.

He is survived by his son Ron of Denver, Colo.; daughter Karen and son-in-law John of Salem; daughter Glorie and son-in-law Don of Eugene; son Jack and daughter-in-law Lisa of Sweet Home; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

A private graveside service for the family will be held.
