Jack R. Williamson, 68, of Stayton died on Oct. 28, 2005.
He was born in Williston, N.D., on April 10, 1937. He was raised in Bozeman, Mont., moving to Oregon in 1956.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1957 and served for two years in Italy.
He married Carol in Vancouver, Wash., on April 29, 1960.
Mr. Williamson worked at several banks around Oregon for 38 years before retiring from First Interstate Bank in Sweet Home, where he was manager. The Williamsons moved to Stayton from Sweet Home in June.
Mr. Williamson was a member of the Rotary Club. He served on the Linn-Benton Community College Board of Directors. He was president of the Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce. He was manager of the Sweet Home Elks Lodge and on the Elks Board of Governors. He was a member and past president of the Oregon Jaycees Senate. He helped start the Fall Festival in Corvallis.
Mr. Williamson enjoyed raising roses, fuschias, golfing, fishing, reading spy novels and his four grandchildren.
He was an avid fisherman and an avid Oregon Ducks fan, following them to the Rose Bowl.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife Carol, of Stayton; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Steven Bauer of Stayton; sons and daughters-in-law, Christian and Shana Lynn of Salem and Greg and Carol of Ft. Collins, Colo.; brother, Wayne of Missoula, Mont.; sisters, Marjorie Tutor of Helena, Mont., Jane Erickson of Tacoma, Wash., Ruby Lewis of Olympia, Wash., and Ethel Cavens of Roseburg; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the Sweet Home Elks Lodge.
Contributions in Mr. Williamson’s memory may be given to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in the name of Zachery Williamson.
