Jack Wittwer, 87, died peacefully in Lebanon on Sept. 28, 2006.
He spent his childhood and youth in southern Nevada.
He was an officer in World War II, an agricultural banker, home gardener, sports fan and outdoorsman. Mr. Wittwer was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His wife of nearly 62 years, Lenore Robison, died in 2003. Illness in 2004 prompted his move to Wiley Creek Community in Sweet Home.
He is survived by his daughter, Celia Vernier, and her husband Gary; son, John, and his wife Mirja; brother, Glade and sister-in-law, Phyllis; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be in Logandale, Nev., on Oct. 7, 2006.
