Jacob Greenaway

Jacob Robert Greenaway, 96, of Sweet Home died June 8, 2015.

He was born May 22, 1919 in Pinewood, Ontario, Canada to Henry and Helen (Kampnar) Greenaway.

Mr. Greenaway made his choice to serve the Lord when he was 18, in meetings that were held by Clarence Arquette and Arthur Munson, in the state of Wisconsin.

He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 as a medic in the 41st Infantry (armored).

He married Ila King Nov. 28, 1945, in Oregon City. He worked as a heavy duty mechanic for Caterpillar Tractor and the city of Spokane, Wash. From the early 1950s to 1988, the Greenaways lived in Spokane. In 1989, they moved to Sweet Home, where he spent the rest of his life.

Mr. Greenaway is survived by his wife Ila of Sweet Home; son Larry of Sweet Home; and one sister, Katie Browning of Vancouver, Wash.

Funeral services were held June 13 at Sweet Home Evangelical Church, with final burial at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
