Jacqueline Moore

Former Sweet Home resident Jacqueline “Jackie” Moore, 81, of Grants Pass, died Oct. 14, 2008 at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 8, 1927 in Cottage Grove, five minutes after her twin sister. She was raised in Oakridge with her sister and brother, Pat Morgan. She attended high school in Sweet Home, where she graduated in 1945. After graduation she met and married Bill Moore and they had three children.

From 1967 to 1982 she lived in Grants Pass. She then resided in Phoenix, Ariz., for 25 years before returning to Grants Pass for her final days.

Mrs. Moore was a “jill-of-all-trades” – a telephone operator, millworker, homemaker, wonderful mother, bartender, truck driver, and airplane engine inspector. Not only did she keep homes, she helped build them also and she could grow anything.

She loved to play bingo. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening and was a great seamstress.

Mrs. Moore is survived by a son, Ron Moore and his wife Linda of Sweet Home; two daughters, Leslye Jones and her husband Doug of Reedsport and Anita Short and her husband Bruce Short of Grants Pass; a sister, Joyce Boylan of Cottage Grove; a dear friend, Paul Felts of Grants Pass; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Pat Morgan; and her parents Earle & Zena Morgan.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to Josephine County Libraries at http://www.JosephineLibrary.org.
