Jamboree announces Ashley McBryde as Sunday headliner

The Oregon Jamboree announced over the weekend that Ashley McBryde will headline the Sunday, Aug. 1, performances at this year’s festival.

That was one of a number of new acts announced for the 2021 Oregon Jamboree, which will run July 30- Aug. 1.

McBryde comes to the Jamboree as one of the top new artists in country music.

After signing with Warner Music Nashville in 2017, she released her major label debut album, “Girl Going Nowhere,” the following year. The album earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album. She was named New Artist of the Year during the 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards held on Nov. 13, 2019.

Her followup album, “Never Will,” released last year, earned McBryde a 2021 Grammy nomination for best country album.

Also performing Sunday will be Walker County – sisters Ivy and Sophie Walker, whose father Billy Walker is their lead guitarist, at 2:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.

Season 17 American Idol winner Laine Hardy will perform shortly after, at 4:45 p.m.

At 3 p.m. on Friday, the Main Stage will feature local favorites Adam Larson & Co. Lonestar will follow at 5 p.m. in its first return to the Jamboree since 2005.

Then at 6 p.m., the Deschutes Brewery Park Stage will feature the southern Oregon country band Fogline.

Saturday’s headliner, announced previously, will be Dustin Lynch.

Friday’s headliner will be announced sometime this week, according to an Oregon Jamboree representative.

Also scheduled to perform Saturday are Jessie Leigh, Niko Moon, Parmalee and Cam.

People who have already bought their tickets to the Jamboree can pick them up at Sweet Home City Hall on June 18 and 19 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
