Jamboree announces five new acts for 2003 lineup

The Oregon Jamboree announced five additions, Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Lawrence, Joe Diffie, Gary Allan and the Derailers, to its 2003 lineup.

The announcement is in addition to Friday night’s concert with Alan Jackson.

The lineup now includes Joe Nichols and Alan Jackson on Aug. 1; the Derailers, Trick Pony and Gary Allan on Aug. 2; and Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Phil Vassar, the Rockin’ Roadhouse Tour with Mark Chesnutt, Joe Diffie and Tracy Lawrence on Aug. 3.

The Oregon Jamboree is the Northwest’s largest country music and camping festival. It is held annually on the community fields south of Sweet Home High School across Ames Creek from Sankey Park.

The 2003 Jamboree will feature 11 national and four regional acts over the three-day festival

In addition to the featured headline entertainment, the event hosts RV and tent camping, food booths, beer and wine gardens and special displays. This year’s lineup again includes the state Country Music Showdown.

Additional acts remain to be announced.

The Jamboree is produced by Sweet Home Economic Development Group as a fund-raising event. Proceeds from the Jamboree are used in local economic development projects.
