The New Era

The 2013 Sweet Home Jamboree was fun and successful, however I have one concern.
The Trevor Tagle band won the KRKT Country Showdown. The band consists of Trevor Tagle, singer and lead guitar; Tim Meyers on the harmonica; Chuck Fitzsimons on bass; and Charlie Fitzsimons on drums.
They played on the Spirit Mountain stage at 2 p.m. on Friday, but the gate did not open until 1:30 p.m. The entire Jamboree audience was trying to get through the gate, and only a few were able to get to the Spirit Mountain stage by 2 p.m.
Sunday, the band was to play at 1 p.m. according to the Jamboree schedule in the information booklet. For some reason, the time was suddenly changed to 11 a.m. The band and the sound people had to rush to be ready.
Again the gate did not open until 10:45 a.m. However, more people were able to rush to the Spirit Mountain stage. I understand many people had planned to hear the band at 1 p.m. as had been scheduled.
This hometown Sweet Home band did win the Country Showdown and is scheduled to open for the Oak Ridge Boys at the Oregon State Fair. I feel the Trevor Tagle Band did not get much recognition at the Sweet Home Jamboree.
