James Alan Butler, 58, of Sweet Home died Jan. 14, 2014.
He was born Sept. 21, 1955 in Omak, Wash. to George Duke and Dorothy (Waggy) Butler.
Mr. Butler loved his family, his church family at River of Life Fellowship and his many friends at the Sweet Home Elks Lodge, where he played cards and sang karaoke.
For many years he participated in and instructed karate, achieving great success.
His last written words were “I love you. The Lord walks with me in all things.”
Mr. Butler is survived by his four daughters, Tara, Kari, Jenna and Stephanie; his father, George Butler of Sweet Home; mother, Dorothy Barker and her husband, Fred, of Springdale, Ark.; sisters, Joanne and brother-in-law Tom West of Wellton, Ariz., Kay and brother-in-law Perry Crocker of Sweet Home, and JuDee Butler of Satsop, Wash.; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at River of Life Fellowship.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
