James Ural Gossett, 82, of Silverton, died April 25, 2013 in his sleep.
Jim was born in Taft, Calif. to James Ural Gossett and Fannie Jackson Burk.
Jim retired as a lieutenant after a long career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and moved to Oregon. Jim enjoyed traveling in his motor home across the continental United States and to Alaska. Jim will be remembered for his unique personality, generosity and great laugh.
Surviving family members include his sister, Betty Jo Swank and brother-in-law, William E. Swank, step-children and grandchildren, in-laws, as well as many nieces, nephews and countless long time cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charlie, Tom and Delbert (Dink); his first wife, Carol Ann Brown (he met her in junior high school); and his second wife, Carol Ann Peterson, the loves of his life.
