James “JC” Calvin McFarland, 95, of Sweet Home died Aug. 28, 2019.
He was born Feb. 17, 1924 in Valliant, Okla. to Steve and Lizzie (Cain) McFarland.
He lived in Wright City, Okla. until 1948, when he moved to Sweet Home.
Mr. McFarland worked at and retired from Willamette sawmill in Sweet Home. He was a member of Harvest Christian Church. He was a people person and if a stranger crossed his path, he would introduce himself.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
Mr. McFarland is survived by his sons, Terry and daughter-in-law Sonya McFarland, Marty McFarland; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lorene in 2014; grandson Cody McFarland in 2002; his parents and siblings.
Viewing will be at noon Thursday, Sept. 5, at Harvest Christian Church. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
