James Van Order, 70, of Sweet Home died Oct. 29, 2010.
He was born May 26. 1940 in Illinois to John Robert and Bonita Ester (Diehl) Van Order.
Mr. Van Order lived in Oxnard, Calif., Michigan, Illinois and Oregon. He moved to Sweet Home 30 years ago with his mother.
He was a painting contractor. He loved fishing and hunting and farming livestock. He enjoyed taking care of his animals and property until sickness recently made that difficult.
Mr. Van Order also loved making handcrafted jewelry out of rocks and minerals he found locally, and telling jokes.
He is survived by his son, Timothy Way; siblings, Sandy Levi, Verna Bridges, Walter Van Order, Tom Van Order and Georgia Ann Norris; cousins Corey and his wife, Brenda Davis, Carlyn and her husband, Kelly Featherly, and Betty Davis; and his dog, “Kilo.”
Private services were held.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
