James Warner

James “Jim” E. Warner, 79, long-time resident of Sweet Home, died in Bend Aug. 28, 2017.
He was born Nov. 17, 1937 in Eugene to Orville and Ellen (Town) Warner.
Mr. Warner was a Sweet Home resident most of his life. He graduated from Sweet Home High School.
He worked at Santiam Mill, two years as a meat cutter, then as a supervisor at Willamette Industries Foster Division before retiring from there after 20 years. He spent 30 years on the Sweet Home Fire Department, serving as an assistant chief and interim fire chief.
Mr. Warner enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling and the Fireman’s Muster Team.
He is survived by his wife, Marge Warner of Bend; daughter Sonia Taylor of Eugene; three granddaughters; long-time friend Dave and his wife Kim Ego of Prine-ville; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Warner was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Ellen; and sister Jeanette.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 16 at the Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District headquarters.
