Jane Elizabeth Murphy-Hinton, 73, of Sweet Home died April 15, 2017.
She was born in Mountainair, N.M. to Martin C. and Dorothy Elmira (Hamilton) Burris.
She lived in Belen, N.M. until 1964, when she moved to Arizona. In 1972 she moved to Livermore, Calif. and then she moved to Sweet Home in 1986.
Mrs. Murphy-Hinton was a member of the American Legion in Lebanon and Fir Lawn Lutheran Church in Sweet Home.
She volunteered her time at the Senior Center helping with Meals on Wheels.
She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was a lover of people, especially her family.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby Murphy of Corvallis and Billy Murphy of California; daughters Jill Murphy-Lanto of California and Brenda Murphy of Sweet Home; sister Flora Murphy of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Murphy-Hinton was preceded in death by her first husband, Pat E. Murphy, in 1989; second husband Larry A. Hinton in 2015; brothers James Burris and Martin L. Burris; brother-in-law Jim Murphy; one step-grandchild; and her parents.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Fir Lawn Lutheran Church. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
