Jason Sarter

Jason Edward Jerry Sarter, 21, of Albany and formerly of Sweet Home died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, in an automobile accident between Lebanon and Albany.

Mr. Sarter was born on Nov. 9, 1994 in Lebanon the son of Paul and Misty (Vaughan) Sarter.

He lived in Sweet Home most of his life, attending Hawthorn Elementary and Sweet Home High School.He graduated in 2013.

Since then he has attended LBCC and worked at the Lowe’s Distribution Center.

Jason lived, ate and slept basketball as his first love, playing in grade school and high school. Later he found love, meeting his girlfriend Jessica Wyatt. He volunteered at the Sweet Home Boys & Girls Club.

Jason is survived by his great-grandparents, Charles and Mary Lou Vaughan of Sweet Home; mom, Misty Sarter of Lebanon; father, Paul, and stepmother, Tara Sarter, of Portland; brothers, Gabriel, Dylan, Justin, Tyson and Austin; grandmother in Alaska; grandmother in Arkansas; girlfriend, Jessica Wyatt; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandmother Patricia Jarrell.

There will be a 12 p.m. burial Saturday, Jan. 2, at Gilliland Cemetery with a 1 p.m. celebration of Jason’s Life to follow at Sweet Home Mennonite Church.

Contributions may be given in his name to the Sweet Home Boys and Girls Club or to the Sweet Home High School basketball program.

Muriel Farnsworth

Oct. 6, 1926-Dec. 25, 2015

Muriel Patricia Farnsworth, 89, of Sweet Home died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at her home.

Mrs. Farnsworth was born on Oct. 6, 1926 in Glendale, Calif., the daughter of Dale Kenneth and Mildred Amelia (Crandall) Farnsworth Sr.

She moved to Drain in 1945 with her father.

In her teens she met William Cool, and later, she married him. They had two daughters together. Their marriage ended in divorce.

Mrs. Farnsworth married John Richard Hays, which ended later in a divorce.

Some time later she married Arthur Doringland. They were married many years while living in the Portland. Mrs. Farnsworth divorced and moved to Lebanon in 1990.

Eventually she settled in Sweet Home.

She enjoyed gardening, watching the Trail Blazers and Tiger Woods. She had a reputation of being a perfectionist an having and eye for details.

Mrs. Farnsworth is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Wymetelek of Medford; three brothers, Dale K. Farnsworth, Jr., Arthur Farnsworth and John Farnsworth; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Huber
