Sweet Home High School sophomore Jeff Rice will represent Oregon in the national Trig-Star contest after winning at the state level.
The Trig-Star program is used to generate interest in mathematics, Cascade Timber Consulting surveyor Arnie Brubaker said. Contestants complete math tests at the local, state and national level.
Rice’s local sponsor was the Willamette Chapter of Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon.
