Jerrene Ethle Hyde, 81, of Sweet Home died Dec.12, 2007.
She was born Aug. 27, 1926 in Seattle, Wash., to Florence and Herman Holm. She graduated from King County High School in Seattle.
She worked on the ferries as a waitress in Seattle and at Boeing Air Field as a riveter during World War II.
She married Wayne Earl Hyde in 1944. They moved to Sweet Home in 1955, where she worked as a cook and a waitress for many years. She loved to cook and care for others.
Mrs. Hyde attended the Sweet Home Church of Christ at 18th and Long Street and was baptized there in 1962. She was also a member of the Sweet Home and Idaho Ladies VFW Auxiliary
She loved her church family. In addition she loved fishing and camping with her family. Her favorite place was the Oregon Coast.
Mrs. Hyde is survived by Loraine Eaton of Bothell, Wash.; daughter, Bonnie Evans of Sweet Home and daughter-in-law Laura Hyde of Albany; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne E. Hyde Jr. of Albany; and her husband, Wayne E. Hyde Sr. of Sweet Home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
