Jerry Ross

Jerry Lawrence Ross, 73, of Sweet Home died Aug. 23, 2019.

He was born Sept. 8, 1945 in Poe Valley to Irvin Dayton and Gertrude (Wilson) Ross.

He lived in Kingman, Ariz. until October 1981, when he moved to Sweet Home.

Mr. Ross worked for the Linn County Road Department for 25 years. After retiring from the county, he worked for the Sweet Home School District for five years as a custodian at Foster Elementary and the district office.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding horses. He was a member of Western Horsemen of Oregon for 35 years.

Mr. Ross is survived by his wife, Chris Ross of Sweet Home; three sons, Chase Ross of Tillamook, Stormy Ross of Sweet Home and Monty Ross of Arizona; three daughters, Ginger Ross of California, Faydra of Nevada and Kimberly of California; sisters Phyllis and Jackie of Burns; one brother of Sweet Home; 14 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Brownsville Pioneer Park. Participants are asked to bring a dessert and memories to share.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
