John Lynn Bingham, 83, of Lebanon, died Dec. 9, 2006, at his home.
He was born Dec. 27, 1922 in Newdale, Idaho, the son of John R. and Novella (Neilson) Bingham. He was raised in Rexburg, Idaho and served in the Army during World War II. Following his discharge, he moved to Oregon.
Mr. Bingham had resided in the Sweet Home, Albany, and Lebanon areas since 1968. He worked in the logging industry, as a mechanic and eight years for Georgia Pacific. He had most recently owned and operated “Affordable Auto Repair” in Albany until his retirement in 1999.
He was a member of the Lebanon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the V.F.W. He enjoyed working and building birdhouses.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Delores; four daughters, Diane Bingham, Lois Smith, Vicky Plagmann and Linda Christensen; two sons, John and Randy Bingham; a sister, Belva Hathaway; 31 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dale Bingham; a daughter, Rosalie Bingham; a brother, Dale Bingham and sister, Doris Timonen.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Lebanon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery near Sweet Home.
