John V. Marano, 79, of Sweet Home, passed away on Tuesday, Sept.1, 2026.
He was born on May 11,1947 to Flornell May (Weiman) and Samuel Vincent Marano in Johnstown, Pa.
John lived a life centered around the things that mattered most to him: his faith, his family, and the outdoors.
John’s love for the Lord Jesus Christ was a meaningful part of his life and something he carried with him throughout his years. Family was also deeply important to John, and he treasured the many relationships, memories, and moments shared with those he loved.
John was happiest outdoors, particularly when he was hunting or simply enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of nature. He also loved his beloved dogs, who were more than pets to him. They were faithful companions and an important part of his family.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Marano; his children, Matthew (Jessica) Marano and Tori (Joe) Brown; his stepchildren, Catharyn (Mark) Crawford, Truman (Sheila) Jones and John Jones; and his many cherished grandchildren.
John will be remembered for the love he had for his family, his faith in the Lord, and the things that brought him joy throughout his life. His absence will be deeply felt, but those who loved him find comfort in knowing he is now home with the Lord.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at Full Gospel Church, 2331 Highway 20, Sweet Home.
