John Dawson, 73, of Sweet Home died March 6, 2007. He was born Dec. 13, 1932 to Clarence and Minnie (Fahrion) Dawson in Yakima, Wash.
Mr. Dawson fought in Korea during the Korean War.
He enjoyed hunting elk and salmon fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Dawson of Sweet Home; sons, Jim and Tim Woods both of Bakersfield, Calif.; sisters, Dona Butler of Grand Junction, Colo., Nancey Bryant of Mason, Wash. and Audrey Lunnigan of Coke Hill; nine step-children; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia; both parents; seven sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the VFW in Sweet Home.
