Johnny Nathan Baugus, 73, of Sweet Home, died Aug. 16, 2022.
He was born Nov. 1, 1948, in Cardwell, Mo., to James and Lela A. (Darden) Baugus.
He grew up in the Tempe area of Arizona. He came to the Sweet Home and Albany area in the 1970s to the mid-80s, settling down in his current home in Sweet Home.
Mr. Baugus was a general contractor until the mid 1980s when he started working for Morse Bro. until an injury forced a career change. He worked for the BLM for several years before retiring.
He was a collector of all things he found value in: old oil cans, marbles of all sizes, pedal cars, if it caught his eyes he collected it. He was an active member of The Rollin’ Oldies Car Club until roughly 2015.
Mr. Baugus is survived by his son, Jonathan Baugus; brother Frank Baugus; sisters Virginia Lee, Ivy Dawson, Anna Lampshire and Henrietta Reyes; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Baugus, in 2013; daughter Lisa Baugus Bone in 2018; brothers Bobby Baugus, James Alvin Baugus and Jackie Baugus; and sister Kitty Dockins.
Graveside services were held Aug. 23 at Gilliland Cemetery following services at Cornerstone Fellowship.
