Jonathan Edward Virtue

Jonathan Edward Virtue, 28, died on Dec. 10, 2005.

He was born on Sept. 1, 1977 in Modesto, Calif. He lived for 13 years in Denair, Calif., and attended Turlock Christian Schools through the seventh grade. He attended school in Sweet Home beginning in the eighth grade and graduated in the Class of 1995.

Mr. Virtue participated in swimming, football, track and field and the student body. He was a 4-H member for six years with Calapooia Critters.

He was a graduate of Oregon State University, earning a bachelor of science degree in animal science. He earned his master of arts in in agriculture education and was on the OSU livestock judging team. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.

He worked for Fort James, Halsey Mill; Oregon Department of Forestry as a forest officer; Sandy High School as an agriculture instructor and FFA adviser; and Jeld-Wen, Bend Millwork, Millork University in Atalanta, Ga., and Millwork University in Portland.

He is survived by his wife, Abby Virtue; children, Katie, 9, Daniel, 7, and Nathan, 4; parents George and Sharon Virtue of Sweet Home; brothers George Virtue of Sweet Home, Tim Holly of Sweet Home and Mike Holly of Tucson, Ariz.; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Services begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, at Community Chapel.
