Joshua Gilbert Roy Long, 51, of Sweet Home, passed away Nov. 4, 2022. He became ill and his body went into multi-organ failure.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1971, in Newport Beach, Calif. to Gilbert Roy and Shea Ann (Lamb) Long.
As a young man, Josh worked at Les Schwab, then joined the Local 29 Ironworkers’ Union where he worked from 1995 – 2020. Most recently, he worked for PetroCard as a Bobtail fuel truck driver.
Josh enjoyed the outdoors. He loved camping and was often fishing, hunting, kayaking, or riding his quad. He was also an avid dog lover.
Josh was always quick to laugh and had an infectious grin. He loved saying things to get a reaction out of people. He loved his family fiercely, and could always be depended on when his family needed him. He strongly believed in the importance of working hard and doing a job right.
Josh is survived by his wife Heather; daughter Kira and her fiancé AJ; step-children Danielle and Bradly; grandson Ash; parents Ken and Shea; sister Rachel and her husband Eric; grandmother Doris; nieces Rylee and Peyton; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his step-daughter Kylee; grandfather Kenneth; and grandmother Rose.
Josh leaves behind so many people that loved him and will feel his loss every day.
