Joyce Irene Baugus, 61, of Sweet Home died May 5, 2013.
She was born Oct. 13, 1951 in Sweet Home to James and Dorothy (Dickinson) Miner.
She has lived in Sweet Home her whole life. She was the middle child of 15 children.
Family was an important part of her life. She loved family gatherings and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Baugus taught fourth grade at Hawthorne Elementary since the 1990s, retiring in 2012. She continued on as a substitute teacher.
She loved to travel, snorkel, go on cruises, parasail, ride roller coasters and drive her convertible – she just enjoyed life. She attended the Cornerstone Fellowship since it was founded.
Mrs. Baugus is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Baugus of Sweet Home; son Jonathan Baugus of Sweet Home; daughter Lisa Bone of Sweet Home; 11 brothers; two sisters; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Miner; and brother James M. Miner Jr.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Sweet Home Evangelical Church.
Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
