Joyce Maxine Long-McNew, 80, of Sweet Home died on March 15, 2006.
She was born in Modale, Iowa on Oct. 19, 1925 to Arthur and Sarah (Myers) Hansen.
Mrs. Long-McNew lived in Iowa. She married Kenneth Long on Aug. 4, 1941 in Missouri. They couple moved to California in 1955 and settled in Rohnert Park.
Mr. Long died on May 10, 1986.
She later moved to Sweet Home to be closer to family. She attended Holley Christian Church.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Long of Sweet Home, Marie Davis of Monterey, Calif., and Carol Peres of Sweet Home; brothers, Dale Knight, Keith Indermuhle and Kenneth Indermuhle; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Indermuhle, and sister, Ramona Lee.
Memorial service was held on March 21 at Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel. Graveside service was held in Petaluma, Calif., at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Society of America in care of Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel, 1443 Long St., Sweet Home, OR 97386.
