Joyce Wells

Joyce A. Mosher Oxford Wells, 62, of Lebanon, died Feb. 14, 2011 at her home.

She was born Feb. 29, 1948 in San Diego, Calif., while her father was in the Navy.

She moved to Sweet Home when she was 9 months old. She was raised and graduated from high school in Sweet Home.

She married Doug Oxford in Texas while he was in the Air Force. They were stationed in Dover, Del. and Japan before returning to Sweet Home in 1970. They later divorced, and she moved to Albany in 1981.

She married John Wells on June 1, 1985 in Sweet Home. They moved to Lebanon in 2002 and to Marcola in 2009, returning to Lebanon in 2010.

Mrs. Wells did clerical work at Tomco, Stone Forest Industries, Mennonite Home, Temp Services and the Albany Democrat-Herald, from which she retired.

She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #2255. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing bingo, making jewelry and dancing.

She is survived by her husband, John Wells of Lebanon; parents James and Geraldine Mosher of Sweet Home; daughters Lori Oxford of Lebanon, Leah Guilford of Albany, Jessie Maxfield of Lebanon, Candy Williams of Lebanon, Sheila Rossell of Brownsville and Angie Neere of Pearsel, Okla.; brother Allan Mosher of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; sisters JoAnne Gifford of Milwaukie, Linda McNelly of Philomath and Patty Dale of Redmond; 20 grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild, with one on the way.

A celebration of life potluck will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, at Twin Cedars Mobile Home Park Recreation Hall.
