Judith Zena Potter, 69, of Sweet Home, died Dec. 27, 2008 at home.

She was born July 23, 1939 in Winchendon, Mass., to Felix A. and Edna C. (Parks) Lafond.

Mrs. Potter graduated from Murdock High School in Winchendon in 1957. She married John E. Potter on July 19, 1958 in Troy, N.H. They lived in Stateline, N.H. from 1962 until moving to Brookline, N.H. in 1964. They moved from Brookline to Sweet Home in 1977 and lived here since.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing, hunting, and camping.

Mrs. Potter is survived by her husband, John E. Potter of Sweet Home; her four children, Kim Jeffreys of Fort Rock, Darlene Martel of Albany, John Potter of Albany and Karen Hankins of Oregon City; brothers Felix E. Lafond of Sweet Home and James Lafond of Scio; sisters Marie Pelletier of Jaffrey, New Hampshire and Anita Landren of Lacomb; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

At her request, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Franz Cancer Research Center at Providence Cancer Center in Portland sent in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W. Grant St., Lebanon, OR 97355.
