Judith Yocom

Judith Sharon (Maloney) Yocom, 79, passed away March 11, 2026, in Lewiston, Idaho, following a short illness.
She was born Nov. 28, 1946, in Hastings, Neb., to James H. and Adaline T. Byrne Maloney. She had many siblings.
She graduated from Sweet Home Union High School in 1964 and attended Oregon State University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
In 1969 she married John H. Yocom in Pensacola, Fla., who was in the Navy. Over the years they lived in Florida; Newport, R.I.; San Diego, Calif.; Portland and Lewiston.
She worked for Dunhill Temporary Services in Portland.
Judith was a life member of the Sports Car Club of America, traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada for racing events, often working at tracks during competitions.
She was a prolific reader and had a massive book collection. When asked, on occasion, if she had read all of them, her normal reply was “which one would you like to discuss?”
Judith is survived by her son, Eric and daughter-in-law Jen Yocom, of Beaverton; and numerous siblings in the U.S. and Canada.
She was preceded in death by her husband, U.S. Navy Commander John H. Yocom; her parents, James and Adaline Maloney; and her brother, James Maloney.
Services will be held at a later date, with interment at the Willamette National Cemetery, where her husband is buried, and at the family plot in Illinois.
