Judy Mae Baker Cannon

June 21, 1946 – Feb. 17, 2006

Judy Mae Baker Cannon, 59, of Foster, died Feb.17, 2006 at her home after an extended illness.

She was born June 21, 1946 in Baxter Springs, Kan., the daughter of Odoland “Donnie” and Helen “Jo” French Baker.

When she was young, her family moved to Foster, where she attended school at Sweet Home.

She married John “Calvin” Cannon on Oct. 22, 1976 in Lebanon.

Mrs. Cannon began working for Norpac in 1980, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed going for a drive and being outdoors. She was a big professional wrestling fan, attending as many live matches as possible and didn’t miss too many matches on TV either.

In 1979 she moved to Salem and returned to Sweet Home in 1997. She was always there for her children, very non-judgmental, easy to talk to. She treated everyone like family, didn’t know a stranger, making everyone feel comfortable and had a very Christ-like attitude toward all she knew.

Mrs. Cannon is survived by her stepmother, Nona Baker of Lowell; two sons, Johnney Baker of Sweet Home and James Baker of LeRoy, Minn.; two daughters, Connie Albee and Tina Castillo, both of Salem; a brother, Nelson Curl of Springfield; three sisters, Glenda Crump of LaPine, Ethel Montgomery Pierson of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Niomi Smith of Kansas; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John “Calvin;” daughter, LaDonna James; granddaughter, Frosty Morgan; and several brothers and sisters.

Private vault interment will be at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
