Julia Garrett, 63, of Sweet Home, died Oct. 5, 2006.
She was born to George & Grace (Simpson) Garrett in Alamosa, Colo. She was raised in Alamosa and graduated from Sangre de Cristo High School in Mosca, Colo., in 1961. She went to nursing school in Alamosa and graduated in 1993, working in a V.A. Hospital in Truth or Consequences, N.M. and finally at a nursing home in Sweet Home.
Ms. Garrett lived in Oregon off and on for the past 20 years. She loved arrowhead hunting, reading and sewing.
She is survived by her brothers, Gene Garrett and wife Jackie, of Monte Vista, Colo., and Billey Dale Garrett and wife Linda of Mosca, Colo.; five nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her father, George, and mother, Grace, both in 1987.
Cremation has been chosen and her ashes will be spread in Alamosa. No services are planned at this time. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
