Karen Gail Ramirez, 69, of Sweet Home passed away May 2, 2026.
She was born Sept. 19, 1956, to Jean (Itzkowitz) and Joseph Meltzer in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She moved to Sweet Home in 2006.
Karen worked in the healthcare industry recently as a treatment aid at a memory care facility. She liked to go shopping, and enjoyed spending time with friends. She loved baseball, gardening, coffee, and she adored cats.
Karen is survived by her husband, Samuel Ramirez of Sweet Home; and her daughter, Samantha Ramirez of Corvallis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Susan Sannino.
A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Sweet Home Elks Lodge.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Roseburg National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Safehaven Humane Society in Tangent. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
