Karen Marie Davis

April 29, 1953 – May 19, 2024

Karen was born in Jerome, Idaho, in 1953 to Harold E. and Marvilla M. (Newman) Guse. Her family moved to Oregon when she was only a few months old.

Karen pursued a teaching degree at Oregon College of Education in Monmouth. Karen was an excellent student and enjoyed playing trombone and loved outdoor activities such as sledding and biking.

Karen met her future husband, Daniel, at a church dance. They were married in 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. Over their 51 year marriage, they had nine children and 26 grandchildren.

Active throughout her life in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she also volunteered for many years at Sunrise Elementary and worked as a registration clerk at LBCC. Karen was excellent at sewing and knitting, and enjoyed other crafts, reading, puzzles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel, and her children and their spouses: Joseph and Jenny Davis of Snohomish, Washington, Gwendolyn and Seth Christensen of Albany, Benjamin and Melissa Davis of Providence, Utah, Jacob and Susan Davis of Wellsville, Utah, Mary and Roger Thompson of Albany, Amelia and Darrin Rex of Stanwood, Washington, Mark Davis of Albany, Jennifer Davis of Albany, and Peter Davis of Albany. Karen is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dwaine.

Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, May 25th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Albany. Private burial will take place at Liberty Cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com.
