Karen Shreve

Karen Lee VanEpps-Shreve, 44, died in her sleep July 15, 2006 at her home in Sweet Home.

She was born to John and Jean VanEpps in Lebanon on July 14, 1962.

A homemaker, she formerly worked at Pioneer Villa and in construction.

She was a devoted mother who loved to spend time with family and friends. In her younger days she enjoyed going to the river, horseshoes, fishing, sewing, reading and “telling it like it was.”

She is survived by her sons, Tyler Harden and Cody Harden of Sweet Home; sisters, Tina Tressel of Sweet Home, Paula Hinkle of Albany, Vickie Pitts of Lebanon, and Jenny Sturf of Keno; brothers, Joe VanEpps of Brownsville, Kevin VanEpps of McKinleyville, Calif., and Travis VanEpps of Okmulgee, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Courtney Newport; and a sister, Carla Bell.

A memorial service was held July 22 at the Crawfordsville Union Cemetery. Contributions to help defray funeral expenses can be made at Linn-Co Federal Credit Union. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
