Kathleen “Katy” Hilda Wilson, 89, of Sweet Home died peacefully Oct. 7, 2014 at her home. She was born Dec. 17, 1924, one of nine children, in Barnard, Mont. to Paul M. and Ethel Elizabeth (Roberts) Duncan.
She married Hollis “Mac” Wilson on June 22, 1943 in Bremerton, Wash. They were married almost 60 years.
Mrs. Wilson liked picking berries and harvesting mushrooms. She was an avid reader and a great cook. She was very knowledgeable about natural health remedies.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Wilson of Corvallis, Julie and son-in-law Norman Morris of Albany, and Jan and son-in-law Mike Rice of Foster; sons Steve and daughter-in-law Regina of Lebanon, Larry and daughter-in-law Lupe of Sweet Home, Rod and daughter-in-law Penny of Oracle, Ariz., and Cory and daughter-in-law Teresa of Sweet Home; sisters Susie Groshong of Sweet Home, Elsie Anderson of Prineville, Rosie Fox of Carmichael, Calif., and Peggy Reller of Thompson Falls, Mont.; brother Pat Duncan of Sweet Home; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis “Mac” Wilson; sisters Betty Morris, Pauline Schukar and Grace Williams; and an infant brother, J. Michael.
A gathering in Mrs. Wilson’s memory will be at noon Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Sweet Home Senior Center.
