Gavin Kauffman pulled double all-star duty last week playing for the South in two basketball games and two baseball games.
Friday night, he scored 16 and pulled down seven rebounds in Eugene Friday, said Dan Tow, assistant Sweet Home High School baseball coach. The second night, he scored 14 with 13 rebounds in Clackamas Saturday. The South lost both nights, but Kauffman was named team MVP.
The South won the baseball series 2-1 in Roseburg. Kauffman missed the first game because he was playing basketball. The South won the first game Saturday night.
On Sunday, Kauffman helped his team, going 1-3 with a single, an RBI, two stolen bases and three runs. The South won 9-3.
“He was obviously a big factor in that game,” Tow said.
He was 0-2 in the second game, and the North won 11-3.
