Keith Eck

March 31, 1925-March 10, 2006

Keith Eck, 80, died March 10.

He was born in Omaha, Neb., to Al and Mabel Eck. He married Doris Kretshmer in Omaha on Aug. 19, 1949.

Eck served in the 104th Infantry Division during World War II. He graduated from Omaha University in 1949 and attained his MFA from University of Nebraska in 1952.

He taught English and instrumental music for 36 years in Kansas and Nebraska.

He played violin professionally in the Omaha and Lincoln Symphony. He enjoyed playing chamber music and had his own professional string quartet for several years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and model railroading.

Eck is survived by his wife, Doris; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Linn Henson of Sweet Home; son and daughter-in-law, David and Johnna Eck of Omaha; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on March 25 at Fir Lawn Lutheran Church.
