Kenneth Culbertson

Jan. 16, 1934 – June 13, 2008

Kenneth Ray Culbertson, 74, of Sweet Home died June 13, 2008. He was born on Jan. 16, 1934 in Lebanon to Lee Warren and Maxine Mildred (Smith) Culbertson.

He lived in the Sweet Home and Cascadia area all of his life except for three years he spent in Waterloo from 1959 – 1963. In 1963 he moved to Liberty Road in Sweet Home and lived there until his death.

Mr. Culbertson entered the Marines on March 22, 1953. He received an honorable discharge March 24, 1956. He served in Korea for a year. He received the National Defense Service Medal.

He worked as a saw mill trimmer for eight years. He also worked at Nebergals meat packing plant and Willamette Industries as a dryer feeder for 20 years.

Mr. Culbertson attended the River Center and worked with Marriage Ministries classes for five years. He was involved in intercessory prayer throughout his Christian life.

He collected car models and wheel covers. He loved going on walks and fishing.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Culbertson is survived by his wife, C. Rosanne Culbertson of Sweet Home; four sons, Zane of Bend, Aaron of Crooked River Ranch, Phillip of Jefferson and Kelvin of Montana; a daughter, Leah Kramer of Kennewick, Wash., 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Culbertson, in the 1970s; and sister, Dixie Cumiskey, in 1995.

A viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at River Center in Lebanon.
