Kenneth Carl Elavsky, 82, died Dec. 24, 2006.
He was born July 9, 1924 in Minnesota, the son of Mike and Mary (Profant) Elavsky.
Mr. Elavasky entered the U.S. Navy as a young man, during World War II, serving in the South Pacific aboard the USS Smalley. He moved west after the war, married and had a family.
He worked on railcars in Portland, then eventually became an independent scrap…
