Kenneth Robert Heinz, 78, of Sweet Home died Nov. 13, 2010.
He was born Jan. 11, 1932 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Arthur John and Elizabeth (Bartz) Heinz.
He lived in Buffalo until 1959, then moved to Buena Park, Cypress and Elsinor, Calif., before finally moving to Sweet Home in 1990.
He was a transmission specialist. He was baptized a Jehovah’s Witness in 1971. He enjoyed collecting old cars, starting transmission shops and helping others. He was devoted to his church.
Mr. Heinz is survived by his wife, Sarah Heinz of Sweet Home; son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Lori Heinz of Salem, daughter Darlene and son-in-law James Kenneth Pierce of Highland, Utah; son Daniel Heinz of Glendale, Ariz., sons David and Dale Heinz both of Elsinor; son Donald and daughter-in-law Linda Heinz of Sweet Home, daughter Sally Heinz and son-in-law Murray of Anza, Calif., and son Scott Heinz of Sweet Home; sisters Ruth Danglis and Joan Majer; brother Carl Heinz; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Heinz of Bakersfield, Calif.; and brothers Richard Heinz of Yucca, Calif. and Arthur Heinz of Sun City, Ariz.
Memorial services were held Nov. 20 at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall on Main Street in Sweet Home, Oregon.
