Kenneth Rodriguez Sr.

Kenneth Orville Rodriguez Sr., 81, of Sweet Home died Jan. 31, 2009. He was born Nov. 5, 1927 in Morro Bay, Calif. to Keeney and Josephine (Trejo) Rodriguez.

He served in the United States Navy. He has lived in Morro Bay, Grover City and Sacramento, Calif. He moved to Sweet Home in 1991.

Mr. Rodriguez worked at the United States Post Office as a letter carrier for 43 1/2 years. He was a minister for the Church of Christ for over 40 years, most recently at the Church of Christ in Lebanon. He later attended the Sweet Home Church of Christ.

He enjoyed collecting, anything and everything, including knives, hammers, old tools, fishing reels, fishing poles, Native American art, pens, etc.

Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his wife Jan of Sweet Home; brother Al of Cupertino, Calif.; daughter Cathy and her husband Scott of Glenwood, Wash.; sons Steven and his friend Sara D. of Fair Oaks, Calif., Ken Jr. and his wife Rachel of Roseville, Calif., Randy and his wife Linda of Snohomish, Wash., daughters-in-law Linda of Kansas, Pam, of Williams, Calif., Trish of Sacramento, Calif. and Linda of Alaska; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carmen, and his brother William.

A memorial service was held Feb. 7 at the Church of Christ in Lebanon.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Alzheimer’s research.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
