It was a perfect day for track and field Saturday at the Meet of Champions at Willamette University and Sweet Home made the most of it.
Dakotah Keys led the charge with school records in the javelin (197-09) and the pole vault (15-1), while finishing second in the high hurdles (15.11) to Damascus Christian’s Sean Lewis, who ran a meet-record 14.89.
The Huskies had a “great day,” Coach Billy Snow said, as the girls posted 14 personal bests in 19 tries and the boys were close behind with 12 PRs in 20 attempts.
“If you’re running at 50 percent, you’re doing pretty good,” Snow said. “Fourteen of 19 for the girls €“ that’s just a really great day.”
All but two of the boys finished in scoring positions
