For The New Era
The Sweet Home Junior Chamber of Commerce is offering children 10 and under the chance to shop for Christmas gifts for family at their first-ever Christmas Kids Store.
The store will be located at Amy’s Annex (the old bus depot) on 12th Avenue next to Curves.
New items at the store will be $5 and under, with most items not over $1. Many items already priced are between 25 and 50 cents. Gift wrapping of presents will be offered free of charge.
The Junior Chamber will operate the store during SHARE’s Warm and Cozy Tour week. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, the day of the Christmas Parade, and before SHARE’s Residential Light Tour on Tuesday, Dec. 7, Thursday, Dec. 9, and Friday, Dec. 10. Store hours on those days will be 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Junior Chamber is currently seeking items to help stock the store. Donations of new items would greatly be appreciated and can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce, 1575 Main St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Christmas Kids Store is a fund-raiser for the Junior Chamber. This is the first time that the Junior Chamber has put on a Christmas Kids Store and will be part of a week filled with excitement as SHARE presents the Warm and Cozy Tour starting December 4th and concluding with the Lighting of Weddle Bridge on Dec. 11.
Thirty-two businesses will be participating during the week and cash prizes will be given away at Weddle Bridge.
